Style Crush - Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

When it comes to looking effortlessly chic, no one seems to do it better than Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. With her beach blonde sun-kissed locks and never faulting style she incorporates a variety of fashion trends and makes them her own. From a nautical Parisian casual to a Classic Mac look, she manages to hone in on trends and add her own quirky flair with a variety of accessories (statement or otherwise) to achieve her own set style. Below are some of my outfit inspirations which I think would be perfect to take into Autumn/Winter 2015.

This first look I absolutely love. Its so casual yet chic with the understated nautical sweater, plain skinnies and jazzed up with a pair of embellished boots and a sassy leopard print scarf which compliments the colour of the shades perfectly. The cute cross-body bag also adds an element of easy functionality to the look. This is the sort of outfit I would love to wear for casual everyday meetings, shopping or a coffee date with friends. Easy, comfortable and stylish is easily one of my favourites looks to go for.

This second look is possibly a little more formal than the first but I still absolutely love as you could easily take this look from day to night. The Mac definitely adds a professional flair to the look, jazzing up any plain tee underneath to make any look look polished. The leather pants and boots give a sexy twist to the outfit, adding a shine sleek look that would be both day and evening appropriate. The understated bag and blended boots just fit this outfit seamlessly and though accessory wise the look is fairly simple the pants and coat combo fits so well for a casual yet styled look.

The last look I have chosen I would definitely say is more formal/work/meeting appropriate. As with every gal I know black is a favourite colour to wear as it is just so flattering for most body shapes and can hide a multitude of sins while still looking polished. I chose this outfit as although the majority of this outfit is fairly plain I just love the silver details; the buttons on the coat and zips on the jeans. The cut of the blazer I also think is super flattering, tailored yet feminine. The boots are gorgeous with the contrast of materials; suede with leather straps, and the height that the boot comes up the leg gives that little extra to what a simple pair of ankle or Chelsea boots would give.

I could talk about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley forever, her gorgeous new 'lob' hairstyle, her new clothing range for M&S? I could literally buy everything in that range! Every piece is gorgeous, a special favourite of mine being the luxury pyjama set. When it comes to style and fashion she just does not put a foot wrong! What is your favourite look of this awesome Victoria Secret Angel? I would love to know in the comments below!

Taming the Mane: A Hair-formation

So last week after two weeks in the sunshine and sea I arrived home from holiday and came to the conclusion that something had to be done. My hair was wrecked. It was long, dry, frazzled, damaged, and about a million different colours and tones. Putting a dark home colour through it before I went on holiday I soon decided had been pointless; as lovely as it looked after I had done it, the sunshine and sea water on holiday soon took it all out and my hair lightened a crazy amount! So the decision was made once I got home that I would go under the knife and get the chop! I wanted to show you guys my hair before and now, and how going shorter and getting all the dead frazzled ends off my hair and a really lovely, natural ombre through it is one of the best things I'v ever done and wish I had done it sooner! I also thought I would show you guys my hair transformation from the last year/year and a half. I used to be so protective of my hair and was never that particularly adventurous with changing hair styles and colours, but recently I have realised that hair grows back, its totally worth changing up your style and being a bit crazy with it. Embrace your hair and have fun with it!

And on that note... welcome to my personal hair transformation.

(first full set of blonde highlights)

(full set of blonde highlights with extensions)

(as blondie blonde as it got!)

(lots of blonde with extensions)

 (after going darker first time)

(after going darker 2)

(frazzled post holiday hair!)

And finally....

The end cut result! Healthy, soft, lovely hair that is so much easier to manage and tame. Naturally my hair is quite frizzy and curly so I was incredibly nervous about going shorter. But it is definitely so much easier to deal with on a daily basis and I wish I hadnt been so scared to go shorter for so long! If your thinking about it... go for it because it honestly is worth it!
If you are Aberdeen based I got this cut and colour at Butterfly21 in Aberdeen. They also posted a picture of my colour which I will link below. I definitely recommend the place if you are in the area!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and if anyone has any hair protection and care tips for dry/damaged hair I would love to hear them in the comments below!

A Sip of Summer

I was over the moon when my boyfriend and I took the plunge and booked our two week holiday earlier this year and since the moment the booking was confirmed the countdown was on! We had booked two weeks all inclusive at the Laguna Park Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. Here are some snaps of our perfect break away. If you are thinking about booking Bulgaria as an option for a holiday I would absolutely recommend it. Beautiful weather, delicious food, fantastic cocktails and so super cheap! It is honestly one of the best holiday destinations I have been to and even though we were there for two weeks, there was never a dull moment!

(the best veggie breakfast I have ever had... not to mention those milkshakes!)

I hope you all have a fantastic summer exploring other hidden gems around the world in the sunshine!

Easy Healthy Recipes - Weekend Breakfast!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! Today I have felt inspired by my new regime in healthy eating and thought I would share with you guys these two super easy breakfast recipes which are perfect for a lazy weekend morning.

The first recipe I am loving is a simple but super delicious one! Soft boiled eggs with avocado soldiers and cherry tomatoes topped with grinded chipotle chilli.

-2 eggs
-1 avocado
-handful of cherry tomatoes/1 large chopped tomato
-grinded chipotle chilli to season
-salt and pepper (if preferred) to season

This is so super easy to put together. Boil the eggs in a pot for around 6 minutes (or any personal preference on how you like your eggs!), chop the avocado and tomatoes and grind the chipotle chilli on top to season.. and thats it! Super yummy, affordable and healthy.

The second dish has a little more to it but is still super easy and tasty. This dish is a spinach omelette with avocado and tomato.

Omelette
-coconut oil
-3 eggs (3 egg whites and 1 yolk used)
-handful of spinach
-handful of crushed chilli
-half a teaspoon of garlic

-avocado
-handful of cherry tomatoes/one large chopped tomato
-salt and pepper to season

To start whisk 3 egg whites and 1 egg yolk in a bowl and preheat a pan with just over half a teaspoon of coconut oil. Add the whisked egg mixture and let it spread to the edge of the pan. add the spinach, chilli and garlic to the mix and let it cook for a couple of minutes before folding over.

Chop the avocado and tomatoes, season. And there you have it. A super tasty healthy omelette with greens and a kick. A perfect start to the day!

I hope you guys enjoy this post and try some of the recipes for yourself :) Have a great weekend!

Naked Palettes & Get The Look!

So today I wanted to tell you guys about some favourite new palettes of mine. Now I know I'm probably fairly late on the bandwagon for this, but I'm talking Urban Decay Palettes. After purchasing and falling in love with the Naked Basics 2 Palette (a post on which I have already done and will link below) I received a lot of questions asking how to know what palette to go for if your on a budget and only looking to buy one. My reply to this would be to look at the individual palettes and pair it to the the colours and types of shades you enjoy wearing, matte, shimmer, hues, and colour schemes. The three Naked palettes I have noticed all have different colour themes within them which I have drawn up below.

Naked Palette
The original Naked Palette is incredibly versatile with a variety of coppers and golds, perfect for someone who loves a jazzed up brown smoky eye.

The Naked 2 Palette in my opinion has more khaki colours in it, more green and brown undertones with golds and coppers, a lovely variety for an exotic smoky eye. Unfortunately as I do not own this palette I haven't been able to provide a photo as an example. Its next on my list!

Naked 3 Palette
The Naked 3 Palette is definitely a palette for rose gold lovers, with a variety of purples, pinks and golden shimmer hues.  A definite beauty in my book.

Its hard to say 'Oh you must get this one or that one' because to me it very much is a personal preference, going with the style of the person and the shades that would get used most. I would say the go for the one you are most drawn to and get a feel for one palette before buying them all. The original however, in my opinion is a great one to start with.

I wanted to incorporate a Get the Look into this post, and for this look below I used my Naked 3 Palette.

I applied Dust all over the lid with a large fluffy brush then worked a little dash of Nooner and Blackheart into the out corner of the eye and into the crease. To add a little more sparkle to the middle of the lid I gently packed in a tiny bit of Buzz and Trick to really make the eyes pop. To finish the look I lined my inner lash line with a brown Rimmel eye liner and coated my lashes with some Falsies Mascara.

And this was the finished look! I wore it into town that day for a spot of shopping and lunch.

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this post and will look into maybe investing in a palette or two yourself. They are pricey but the variety of looks you can get from them and the quality, consistency and blend-ability of the shades is just stunning and well worth the money.

Leave a comment and any links to your blogs below as I love reading up on what you have all been up to! :)

Tis the Season.. For Dissertation!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't written in so long life has just been very hectic over Christmas and New Year with going home and visiting family jumbled in with revising for the dreaded January exams!

I just wanted to let you all know that for my 4th year dissertation at uni I have decided to actually write about blogging and vlogging and the beauty community. Its a little different to everyone else's choices, seems a bit wild and out there but I am so excited to get started as the blogger/vlogger community is something I am so passionate about. I love how everyone is so friendly and always supporting each other and their work; it is a truly unique online experience in my eyes that is overlooked by scholars, so I thought why not introduce them to the many possibilities blogging/vlogging has to offer!.

As part of my dissertation research I have created a survey just to get an idea of what all motivates you to create your content and what inspires you all the most. It is seven questions and if any of you can spare a few moments to complete it I will be more than grateful! Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WRTT6H3 and again thank you so much for your time!

Next week I will be posting a Christmas gift haul so keep your eyes peeled!
