Do You, Be You, Embrace You.

I wanted to write a blog post today but I wasn't sure what to write it on. This could be a bit more of a ramble but at the moment I feel like I am going through a slight transformation within myself and I guess I just want to touch on the subject of change. A lot has changed in my personal life recently, my job, my relationship and my attitude to life and myself in general. I feel like although change is a very daunting thing, it is something that should be embraced. Having a lot change in your life in quite a small space of time can be intimidating. Your not quite sure what to think or feel and emotions do run high. Excitement with a hint of worry, a touch of self doubt and a scatter of overwhelming emotions are natural, however I do believe that the excitement of new prospects and something different to get yourself involved in is a really positive and life affirming feeling.

Change is something that everyone goes through at some point in their life, whether its a new job, a new relationship or even a break up. All of these situations and more can be an daunting feeling, to let someone in or the prospect of going it alone. It shouldn't change who you are as person, more define the person that you want to be. Lift you up instead of drag you down and be a positive force on your personal goals. You shouldn't change who you are or follow the crowd on what you think you should be doing. What you enjoy and what makes you smile. Just do you, be you, and embrace you and everything else will fall in to place.

I guess I just wanted to write a positive post about something that everyone goes through and I know that everyone copes differently and has their own way of dealing with change in their lives. Is there anything you guys are going through that you can share what you do to keep yourselves grounded or make you feel good about yourself? I find working out an amazing way to focus and feel good about myself. Let me know what you guys think below. A bit of a random post but something I just wanted to put out there I guess. :)

A Sip of Summer

I was over the moon when my boyfriend and I took the plunge and booked our two week holiday earlier this year and since the moment the booking was confirmed the countdown was on! We had booked two weeks all inclusive at the Laguna Park Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. Here are some snaps of our perfect break away. If you are thinking about booking Bulgaria as an option for a holiday I would absolutely recommend it. Beautiful weather, delicious food, fantastic cocktails and so super cheap! It is honestly one of the best holiday destinations I have been to and even though we were there for two weeks, there was never a dull moment!

(the best veggie breakfast I have ever had... not to mention those milkshakes!)

I hope you all have a fantastic summer exploring other hidden gems around the world in the sunshine!

Easy Healthy Recipes - Weekend Breakfast!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! Today I have felt inspired by my new regime in healthy eating and thought I would share with you guys these two super easy breakfast recipes which are perfect for a lazy weekend morning.

The first recipe I am loving is a simple but super delicious one! Soft boiled eggs with avocado soldiers and cherry tomatoes topped with grinded chipotle chilli.

-2 eggs
-1 avocado
-handful of cherry tomatoes/1 large chopped tomato
-grinded chipotle chilli to season
-salt and pepper (if preferred) to season

This is so super easy to put together. Boil the eggs in a pot for around 6 minutes (or any personal preference on how you like your eggs!), chop the avocado and tomatoes and grind the chipotle chilli on top to season.. and thats it! Super yummy, affordable and healthy.

The second dish has a little more to it but is still super easy and tasty. This dish is a spinach omelette with avocado and tomato.

Omelette
-coconut oil
-3 eggs (3 egg whites and 1 yolk used)
-handful of spinach
-handful of crushed chilli
-half a teaspoon of garlic

-avocado
-handful of cherry tomatoes/one large chopped tomato
-salt and pepper to season

To start whisk 3 egg whites and 1 egg yolk in a bowl and preheat a pan with just over half a teaspoon of coconut oil. Add the whisked egg mixture and let it spread to the edge of the pan. add the spinach, chilli and garlic to the mix and let it cook for a couple of minutes before folding over.

Chop the avocado and tomatoes, season. And there you have it. A super tasty healthy omelette with greens and a kick. A perfect start to the day!

I hope you guys enjoy this post and try some of the recipes for yourself :) Have a great weekend!

Tis the Season.. For Dissertation!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't written in so long life has just been very hectic over Christmas and New Year with going home and visiting family jumbled in with revising for the dreaded January exams!

I just wanted to let you all know that for my 4th year dissertation at uni I have decided to actually write about blogging and vlogging and the beauty community. Its a little different to everyone else's choices, seems a bit wild and out there but I am so excited to get started as the blogger/vlogger community is something I am so passionate about. I love how everyone is so friendly and always supporting each other and their work; it is a truly unique online experience in my eyes that is overlooked by scholars, so I thought why not introduce them to the many possibilities blogging/vlogging has to offer!.

As part of my dissertation research I have created a survey just to get an idea of what all motivates you to create your content and what inspires you all the most. It is seven questions and if any of you can spare a few moments to complete it I will be more than grateful! Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WRTT6H3 and again thank you so much for your time!

Next week I will be posting a Christmas gift haul so keep your eyes peeled!

Markets-Scents and Myrrh

Hello everyone :) this week I haven't really been up to very much, just working away not too much to report! However today I did have a little wander into Aberdeen city centre to check out the International Market that visits here quarterly and indulged in a little mulled wine while browsing through the various stalls. I absolutely love seeing all the interesting little trinkets that are brought along and smelling the yummy fresh waffles and crepes that are being made along the way. At the market the have everything from cheese stalls to nougat to woodwork craft. There is such a lovely mix of interesting things that normally you wouldn't come across day to day so I thought I would take some snaps and share them with you all :)

While wandering I also found myself in two of my favourite shops. Lush and The Yankee Store! At this time of year both stores bring out the most festive smelling products and I just couldnt resist purchasing a few winter warmers!

From Lush I invested in the Hot Toddy shower gel mini that just smells amazing! The Cinders bath bomb which I have heard such good things about and the Northern Lights bath bomb which I thought would be lovely for coming up to Bonfire night as it promises to ''turn your bath water into a calming jasmine and ylang-ylang scented swirling night sky scattered with stars.'' - Seriously how could you resist that bath time spectacle!

From the Yankee store I purchased one of the fragrances of the month which was the Cranberry Ice candle. This candle smells amazing. It is wintery but fresh and smells so yummy I could eat it. At £14.99 for the large jar I honestly couldn't resist. I also invested in a few samplers; Spiced Orange, Cranberry Pear, Vanilla Chai and Sweet Apple. Candles for me are becoming such an obsession! Nothing beats lying in bed at night with a candle burning hiding away from the world in a cloud of festive scent all cosy and warm.

What have you guys been up to this weekend? I hope you have a all had a very pleasant Sunday!

50 Shades of Autumn At Ballater

So I know my new schedule was to share a post with you guys every Thursday and Sunday but I have been out at Ballater today near Balmoral Castle and I just had to share some of these gorgeous snaps I got from around the village! We were meant to go for lunch at Balmoral Castle but unfortunately we couldn't gain access as they were doing work on the bridge, so no sneak peaks of Prince Harry and Kate and Wills :( (They probably weren't even there but one can dream.. Mr Darcy moment with Prince Harry while lunching in the grounds yes please!) But anyway moving on from that image here are some of the snaps I managed to get today.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Wednesday!
